All sport athletes must be registered as a Dragon Boat Canada (DBC) organizational participant, this was previously commonly called “member”. Since racing in the sport division of local events and at National and International events requires being a DBC organizational participant, all 22Dragons club members that are in at least one sport (competitive) program must be registered with DBC. The 22Dragons sport programs include but are not limited to
- Junior
- Marianopolis Descendents of the Dragon
- McGill Dragon Boat Z
- Concordia Dragon Boat Club
- Club Sportif de Bateau-Dragon de l’Université de Montréal
- 24U True Grit
- Premier
- Senior
There are a few additional requirements for registration this year. These requirements are to educate all participants on making our sport safer for everyone involved and set clear expectations for paddlers and coaches alike.
Therefore, before registering yourself with DBC, the two following requirements must be met.
- Safe sport online training
- Reading and understanding the DBC Code of Conduct
Instructions for completing both requirements are below.
Once these two requirements are met, you can then renew or register for your DBC membership. Note that a cost of $35 plus tax is associated with your membership.
Registration and all prerequisites must be completed before:
- CCWC Taiwan Athletes: February 22, 2026
- All other athletes: March 8, 2026
Safe Sport Online Training
Safe sport is a shared responsibility to create and maintain environments where everyone can participate in sport safely and positively. It requires all stakeholders to recognize and report maltreatment while prioritizing the well‑being and rights of every individual. In Canada, participants should be able to expect inclusive, accessible, goal‑supportive environments that are free from all forms of harm. Safe and inclusive environments are essential for ensuring meaningful and fulfilling sport experiences.
